OAK Tasmania has received a $2000 donation towards its work in the Tasmanian community, thanks to His Excellency the Honourable Peter Underwood AC Governor of Tasmania and Mrs Underwood, and the Rotary Club of Howrah.

Each year His Excellency and Mrs Underwood conduct a public open day at Government House in Hobart. A regular fixture, the open days are always well attended and the Rotary Club of Howrah are kept busy by providing visitors with a sausage sizzle.

Monies raised from the sausage sizzle  are donated to a chosen charity, and this year His Excellency chose OAK Tasmania as the beneficiary.

OAK Tasmania’s CEO John Paton was presented with the donation by His Excellency at a dinner hosted by the Rotary Club of Howrah at the Tasmania Police Academy.

Mr Paton sincerely thanked His Excellency and Mrs Underwood for nominating OAK Tasmania and extended his appreciation to the members of the Rotary Club of Howrah in recognition of their hard work and community spirit.

The donation will be used to support people with learning challenges by providing them with access to digital training software.
