Divisional Manager of Oakdale Industries, John Hollis, was recently awarded the title of Vanguard by the Australian Timber Flooring Association (ATFA), at its Annual Convention held in Melbourne in October. At ATFA’s Annual Dinner, the culmination to this year’s highly successful Convention, John was awarded the title in front of 180 industry leaders from around the country.

Oak Tasmania Chief Executive Officer, John Paton, said that John’s leadership qualities and his passion for the timber industry ensure Oakdale Industries remains one of Australia’s most well-respected timber merchants.

 

 

“John is never one to take credit for the exceptional quality of product and levels of customer service clients receive when they deal with Oakdale Industries, however his many years of experience in the timber industry combined with the level of care he has for his staff and his ‘can do’ attitude, form the foundation of Oakdale Industries’ success, and I congratulate him on his achievement.”

ATFA Chief Executive Officer, Randy Flierman, said Vanguard status is only awarded to those who annually provide a considerable contribution to the industry, demonstrate a commitment to ongoing training, professional development, and who demonstrate a level of experience commensurate with attaining such a reward.

“John is a role model in Tasmania and nationally for his passionate care for the industry and unrelenting commitment to professionalism and quality. He is always willing to assist the industry’s growth in any way.”

ATFA has an accreditation system which reflects the credentials of each member. It is a points-based system where members must demonstrate their points for any given level to retain or increase it annually. Tasmania has 10 ATFA members, of which John is the only one to have attained the level of Vanguard.

Oakdale Industries is based in Warrane on Hobart’s Eastern Shore and supplies T & G strip flooring, overlay flooring, parquetry flooring, DAR & mouldings, door jambs, contract machining and craft and joinery products.
