The OAK Tasmania Touch
What makes Oakdale Industries most unique is that the majority of our employees are Tasmanians living with disability. In fact, the business itself has evolved from OAK Tasmania’s pioneering commitment to serve and enliven those living with disability in the community. En route to empowering our team with practical tools and a real sense of purpose, we’ve managed to build, maintain and grow an extremely viable business – feeding any operating surplus back into the OAK Tasmania community.
Like the tree of our namesake, the fruit of our labor contributes to the whole forest… and WE LOVE IT.
With certified training programs in the areas of quality assurance and safety, and managers devoted to both premium production and positive, enriching experience for the team, Oakdale Industries thrives on a culture of respect, responsibility and reliability, while being celebrated for its consistency, diversity and uncompromising devotion to quality timber production.
It’s powerful stuff to see the team working with such a sense of purpose. For many, it gives them a reason to get up in the morning and they feel like they are making a genuine contribution to the community – which they are! Our heart and soul is to make sure our people have smiles on their faces at the end of the day. The fact that we do that by giving them a sense of purpose and learning skills while creating valuable products for a viable business… it’s a win-win for everyone… And one of the reasons I myself continue to look forward to work each day.
